On your first day in Italy, we’ll meet you at 11am in the arrival hall of Venice Marco Polo airport.Once together we will drive for approximately 2h 30 mins to Passo Rolle (1.984 m), where we’ll shoot the famous Baita Segantini and Pale di San Martino (3.192 m) at sunset.
After sunset we’ll drive for a few minutes to our hotel and have typical alpine dinner.
Accommodation: 4-star Hotel near Passo Rolle
On the second day of your Photo Tour, we will photograph the Pale di San Martino at dawn from a spectacular location with streams and lakes with the mountains in the background.Here we’ll take a cablecar up to the top of Mount Lagazuoi (2.750 m) which commands an incredible view over the surrounding mountains and valleys. One of the highlights of the whole tour is the opportunity and privilege of sleeping in the hut at the summit of Mount Lagazuoi. This won’t be an uncomfortable accommodation, as we’ll have private rooms instead of beds in the dormitory. In addition to this, the Rifugio Lagazuoi has one of the best cuisines in the Alps and it also features the highest sauna in the Dolomites!
Overnighting at Rifugio Lagazuoi will allow us to shoot the last rays of the setting sun from 2.750 m over the Dolomites, resulting in an incredible opportunity to take stunning shots.
After dinner we will evaluate the sky conditions and if they’re good we’ll shoot the Milky way and startrails.
Accommodation: Rifugio Lagazuoi (2.750 m)
This day will start early (for those willing), about one hour before dawn, we’ll photograph the sun’s first rays hitting the peaks of the mountains.
After a great sunrise session we’ll have a continental breakfast at the hut and some time to rest and pack our things up before moving to the next location.
We’ll descend with by cablecar and we’ll drive via a road with panoramic views to the beautiful Misurina Lake, only 30 km away.
We’ll have a quick lunch on the lakeshore and purchase some sandwiches to take away, which will be our dinner.
After lunch we’ll move by car to Rifugio Auronzo (2.320 m), where we’ll park and proceed on foot for more or less 1 hour, an easy hike, to get to famous Forcella Lavaredo in front of Three Sisters (Tre Cime). We’ll try and find the best vantage point and wait for the sun to set over the Tre Cime.
Immediately after sunset we’ll begin the walk back to our car, to make the most of the remaining light before darkness falls. Our dinner tonight will be an unglamorous sandwich and some fruit, our return to civilization will be past restaurant serving times.
The drive back to the hotel will take a few minutes and we can all enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Accommodation: 3-star Hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo
Today the sunrise shooting session will be at Cinque Torri area (2.361 m), a beautiful group of rocks near Cortina.
There are many remnants of World War I left by Italian troops in this area, it is often called an open air museum, and we’ll have the opportunity to shoot this little mountains and visit the trenches
Upon returning from dawn, a hearty breakfast awaits us and some well-deserved rest in the hotel.
We can then have a photo review session, a walk in the center of Cortina and have lunch in one of the many excellent local restaurants.
In the afternoon we will be able to move around to take photographs, choosing from the many photographic spots in the surrounding area, the most famous of which is Passo Giau.
Upon returning from sunset we will have dinner in a typical mountain restaurant and enjoy a night’s rest in the hotel.
Accommodation: 3-star Hotel in Cortina d’Ampezzo
This day will begin with a beautiful photo session at dawn at Lake Antorno, a small lake surrounded by fir trees in which the Tre Cime di Lavaredo are reflected.After breakfast we will drive for half an hour to Lake Braies, a wonderful lake, one of the most iconic spots in the Dolomites. Its emerald waters are usually calm in the morning, which is great for photography. We will explore the shores of the lake or you can hire a rowing boat if you fancy a more relaxing morning.
Lunch will be at a great restaurant near the lake and then we’ll travel to Val di Funes, a picturesque alpine valley with cozy houses and famous churches. From here we can take a short walk to visit several interesting locations at the foot of the Odle mountains (needle mountains) (3.025 m) before shooting the last rays of the sun on the mountain peaks.
After dinner we will have a new opportunity to photograph the stars.
Accommodation: 4-star Hotel near Val di Funes
After photographing at dawn still near the Val di Funes, we will make a short tour to the pretty village of Ortisei in Val Gardena.
Here we will go up with a cable car on the Seceda, a peak of over 2500m with a splendid panorama of the surrounding mountains and valleys, including the famous Odle.
In the afternoon we will move to the nearby Alpe di Siusi, where you can enjoy some of the best views of the Dolomites.
Here we will shoot at sunset and at night and spend the night in an exclusive hotel near the Alpe.
Accommodation: 4-star Hotel near Alpe di Siusi
Your last day in the beautiful Dolomites, will start by shooting at dawn in the Alpe di Siusi. The fir trees and huts and hopefully a little morning mist can provide great images.
After breakfast when your luggage is packed we will drive for about 3 hours to the Marco Polo Airport in Venice and should arrive around 14:00.
This is where the tour ends. We hope you have great memories and fantastic photographs.
You could also stay a few extra days and enjoy some more of the magical atmosphere of Venice and Italy.
Our photo guides are available to take you to the best photo spots in Venice with the help of some local guides who know every secret of the city.
These extra days can be scheduled even before the Dolomites tour.

The tour will be confirmed when the minimum number of participants required have subscribed.
Don’t buy your flight tickets until you receive a confirmation from us.
All communication regarding the tour will be by e-mail.
If you cancel your subscription before the tour is confirmed we will refund the amount in total.
If you cancel your subscription after the tour has been confirmed refunds will be as follows:
– More than 30 days before the start of the tour you will be refunded 50% of the total cost.
– Less than 30 days before the start of the trip no refund will be granted but we’ll do our best to refund as much as possible.
Refunds will be paid approximately one week after the scheduled tour ends.
Activity Level: Moderate – Mostly short walks on level ground. One hike – 90 mins approx, ascending 200m. You should be fit enough to undertake the hike whilst carrying your photographic equipment. The hike can be skipped of needed.
The tour itinerary is always dependent on weather, as the weather can indeed be unpredictable.

First of all I had the opportunity to see with the eyes of an expert like Gabriele how to observe and move around in the field (sun-moon-star position) and make the most of situations, or how to work with different shots and compositions if the light is not the ideal ally to bring home satisfying shots. Following small purely compositive tricks I immediately noticed an improvement in my shots.
